My classes

Baby swimming, step by step

From 4 months to 5 years, six progressive levels to accompany your child — from the very first bath to autonomous breaststroke in the main pool.

Swim and Smile method

A structured programme, grounded in APA-S expertise

My approach is rooted in my university degree in Adapted Physical Activity & Health (APA-S), my 8 years of experience with baby swimming in Luxembourg, and the Swim and Smile method by Annick — with whom I have worked until today and whose teaching I now carry forward. Each exercise meets a specific pedagogical objective, each level corresponds to defined motor acquisitions.

  • Six progressive levels, from infant to young swimmer
  • Explicit pedagogical objectives at every stage
  • Individualised follow-up of your child's progression
  • Joy and safety before performance

By age group

Three stages, six progressive levels

4 months – 20 months

Babies

First contacts with water, gently, in mum or dad's arms. We get used to sensations (water on the face, floating, brief immersion), we build emotional safety and the very first aquatic reflexes.

  • Sensory familiarisation with the aquatic environment
  • Stronger parent-child bond
  • First postural patterns (back and tummy balance)
  • Relaxation and better sleep
30 min

20 months – 3 years

Toddlers

Baby walks, becomes an active part of the session: jumping in from the edge, retrieving objects, courses with mats and foam noodles. The first arm-band-assisted swims appear, voluntary face submersion sets in.

  • Voluntary motor engagement
  • Hand-eye coordination in water
  • First autonomous swims with arm-bands
  • Beginning of voluntary face submersion
30 min

3 – 5 years

Children

Technical learning: we break down the breaststroke movements, build arm-leg coordination, gradually remove the arm-bands. By 6, your child swims autonomously in the main pool.

  • Acquisition of breaststroke motor patterns
  • Full submersion and aquatic exhale mastered
  • Full-cycle arm-leg coordination
  • Autonomous swimming in the main pool
30 min

A typical session

How does a session unfold?

  1. Welcome at the pool edge

We meet at the edge of the pool and say hello.

  2. Into the water

Baby comes into the water in your arms, at their own pace.

  3. Exercises and play

Obstacle courses, floating, play and voluntary submersions based on age and mood.

  4. Quiet time

A few quieter minutes before getting out of the water.

  5. Goodbye

We say goodbye, see you at the next session.
